Bow Thruster Systems

Bow thruster systems can be installed on just about any boat out there. The ease of pressing a switch to engage the boat thruster and control your bow in close quarters or high wind is a bit of comfort reserved for boaters who truly know what it is to spoil themselves!

Not for everyone?

Any captain who has been caught in a high wind near the fuel dock knows that a bow thruster could make all the difference in navigating close quarters. Bow thrusters from Defender Marine are available for boats up to 90 feet. Confirm your size and application, keep in mind that boat thrusters are delivered by freight line only and they can be quite the investment so find a professional for installation.

Determine the environment

Today's bow thrusters are ignition-protected meaning that retrofitting one into a gas-powered boat is safe. Not your typical DIY project, installation of a bow thruster should be left up to a reputable boat yard with hook-up and marine electrical experts.

Parts galore!

Bow thrusters have propellers inside and propellers eventually need to be replaced. Bow thrusters also have wiring harnesses and switches ? the electrical component means electrolysis and therefore zincs and anodes are available as well. Replacement tunnels are also available at Defender Marine.
