I had the prior version of this motor - new one solves some of the issues as there are no connector cables to attach, the power connection is protected from the elements, the complete motor (battery, tiller and motor) is in two pieces instead of three, there is a handle on the motor with an easy place to attach a lock. New motor is quieter. Battery has plenty of power for several days of use driving a dinghy. Only complaint is that they apparently are not yet selling a 12V charger cable, so I have to charge on shore rather than on the boat.
