Do I assume the chain must be removed to actually pump out the holding tank?
Often, the chain can prevent the pump out hose from making the necessary seal. The chain option is more helpful on the water and fuel fill versions of this deck fill, but removal from the waste discharge version can be a good idea to avoid this issue.
