Rated 5 out of 5 by from Don't skip the deck plate Exactly what we needed to rebuild the manual bilge pump in our 2000 leopard 38. The actual work was fairly straightforward, once we figured out what we needed. We were tempted to skip replacing the deck plate/gaitor because the old one seemed fine at first glance. But a closer look showed that the rubber had gotten stiff and was destined to crack at the worst possible time. So I'm glad we took care of it! Defender always ships fast and this time was no exception.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pump part received in good fashion Received this correct part to rebuild my Whale Gusher 10 sump pump. It was less costly that other vendors. It arrived in a reasonable time. I have used Defender for many years, especially when I need a special hard to find part at a reasonable cost.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Whaler pump kit I rebuilt my whale pump about 12 years ago. The sun baked the o ring for the closure. Had to order whole kit just to get the oring. New oring is slightly over sized making it hard to install and close cover

Questions

This is different from the one I removed. I believe I have the Whale Gusher Mk 3, I previously ordered and installed the pump rebuild kit which fit fine. The gaiter I took off is taller and the hole is offset and angled. Is this indeed the correct one?

Asked by: Steve
I think it’s likely the correct replacement. The old one is probably stretched and the angle of the hole from it forming to the pump lever receiver while at rest. My MK 3 kit looked just like your photo and fit perfectly.
