Be cautious and measure before buying this.
This item is supposed to make upgrading from an older Vetus joystick to the new model easy. The old joystick was screwed in to the panel or fiberglass laminate mounting location. This item covers the old screw holes and the joystick is secured from behind. Unfortunately it will not work if your mounting location laminate is thick. In my case the laminate is 1 inch thick, and it would not work. I contacted Vetus customer service about this. They are normally excellent but never answered. In the end I was able to jury rig the new joystick in but the screw jokes from the old joystick showed. I had to fill these. Bottom line - if your laminate the new joystick will mount to is 1 inch thick or more this will not work.
