Questions
When selecting the thimble size, should it match the line diameter? I ordered two 1/4" thimbles, stamped right on them as 1/4", but they seem like they would easily accommodate a 3/8" line. A 1/4" line looks too small relative to these thimbles.
You’re correct, the size of the thimble should match the line diameter. These are purposefully “oversized” to offer maximum protection from chafe. Unlike typical thimbles the line fits completely inside minimizing any chance of your line chafing. They’re honkers, but completely worth it for maximum line protection.
