Description
The SD10 Sailboat Drive system makes it easy and economical to install an autopilot on small to medium size sailboats with access to a quadrant or tiller.
Features:
- Powerful and fast - capable of delivering over 180 kg/400 lbs of cable thrust, with a normal H.O. to H.O. time of 12-15 seconds
- System comprises of a Drive Unit, a Steering Cable and a Universal Connection Kit
- Drive unit can be installed in any convenient location
- Steering cable and connection kit transmit the steering forces to the quadrant or tiller

Works great with a little help
Although I was skeptical that it would be strong enough for my 34' Jeanneau, it seems fine. I had to do a little modification to fit it on my steering quadrant but once I greased the linkage it moved easily.

Questions
I have done drawings and will try a mockup in the boat tomorrow, but can I return this if I try to fit it, but it does not work? ...Provided it is not used is clean and is put back in the box neatly as received?
You have 30 days from date of purchase to return. Unable to return it if it's been installed. Original packaging is a must.

This does appear to have integral RFB Rudder Feedback. Is this 00013697-001 number using "resistance" and is therefore compatible with the NAC-2 (but not the NAC-3)?
Thank you for reaching out to the Defender Team! Simrad's website www.simrad-yachting.com defines this sailboat drive as SD10 Mechanical Drive for NAC-2. So you are correct. This is compatible with NAC-2 and not NAC-3. NAC-2 autopilot computer is for low-current drive units, suitable for vessels up to 10 meters/35 feet in length. NAC-3 autopilot computer is recommended for boats above 10 meters/35 feet in length.
