NAC1 not applicable for open ocean outbapplication
unfortunatley after multiple attemps I could not complete the commissioning process. After call Simrad I was told that the NAC1 is designed more for lake applications and not the open ocean. I called defender and was told that the unit could not be returned or exchanged for the NAC2. Fortunatley Simrad stepped up and allowed me to do the exchange and pay the difference

Minor connection issue
The unit works as expected, the only issue I had was the 3 angled orb fittings used to connect the hydraulic lies to the helm. The center fitting should be a straight fitting and not a right angle fitting. When fully tight and uising the right angle fitting in the center you cannot connect the hydraulic line, the nut hits the casting (using a Sea Star helm). I purchased a straight fitting and everything is working fine. I did voice this to Lowrance.
