AP44 Autopilot controller works great.
Defender shipped AP44 autopilot controller promptly. Installation was easy. The unit is slightly larger than the AP24 we replaced, Also it required a new jumper cable (not included) since Simrad has gone to the std NEMA 2k vs the Simnet the older AP24 autopilot used. We updated the software which was confusing until we called tech support and then was easy. The installation soltware setup for rudder angle etc was straight forward. We love the dispaly format of the new autopilot controler. The rotary knob to change course setting is a huge improvement over the +1-1 & +10-10 buttons of the old controller.
