Is it white or black? Is it ~4" wide?
This is in fact "gel white", and yes, the edges are about 4" wide.

Is there a maintenance schedule to service the regulator? Any filters to be cleaned?
There are no filters. The only maintenance I do is when I winterize I take off both the hose from the dock faucet and the fresh water hose inside the boat. I then make sure that the fresh water hose is blown out all the way to where I cut it into the fresh water system.
