Rated 4 out of 5 by from Meter does NOT help diagnose AIS issues. Intended to test our AIS antenna and cable. Found out that the tester apparently requires a transmitter to transmit to test the antenna. AIS only transmits short bursts when it thinks it needs to so I wouldn't achieve what I intended. I purchased a new antenna and cable and replaced the old antenna without knowing it was defective. AIS is now transmitting, blinking red light is now green, and VSWR (as reported by the AIS transponder) went from nearly 8:1 to 1.5:1 so the old antenna-cable were the problem but this meter did not help me diagnose it. (It did verify that my VHS transciever and antenna are OK!)
