Description
Schaefer's Halyard Restrainers eliminate the possibility of halyard wrap by simply deflecting the halyard away from the headstay.
Features:
- Mounts directly to the front of the mast, below the halyard exit at the top of the mast
- Great for furling systems - prevents halyard wrap
- Requires (2) #10 RH machine screws (sold separately)
Small Halyard Restrainer:
- Appropriate for boats up to 28'
- For halyards up to 3/8" (9.525 mm)
- Safe working load: 750 lbs (340 kg)
Large Halyard Restrainer:
- Appropriate for boats from 27' - 53'
- For halyards up to 5/8" (16 mm)
- Safe working load: 2000 lbs (907 kg)

Works but Not Enough Instructions for Install
This works but just beware, it should be installed very near to the level of the upper swivel. I installed mine very near the sheave exit on the mast, and it's way too high up. I've had halyard wrap problems all Summer! It broke a forestay and eventually broke the halyard. Really I should have installed it 6-8" lower and it's been a huge problem. Don't be like me.
