Bright and easy to install.
These are bright lights. Easy to install and, so far, are working well. We’ll see how they handle the Florida environment in the coming months.

Not recommended
I installed 8 of these in my sailboat. They work great for a while however the electronics leave something to be desired. 4 have failed. When you turn them off the drivers do not always completely shut down and either the red leds or white leds remain lit at a lower level than normal. This is not the backlight function. I've decided to replace them with something more reliable and lower wattage as each light fails.

Very brite and slim profile
I replaced my old red and white bulb helm light to this soft blue and white slim low profile lite.
I’m very happy and it’s plenty Brite and provides plenty of wide downward lighting.
Just be careful removing the snap on cap. It appears that it should twist off and it don’t because of the protective silicone seal. I found pushing downward on the little notch that aligns up with the lighted power switch did the trick and after install aligning that up it snaps into place.
Good luck and enjoy.

Bought 2, 1 DOA
1 was DOA on install so I have to wait 2-3 weeks for a replacement.

Questions
What is the recommended technique for separating the face plate from the main frame in order to mount the light with the three screws supplied in the package?
Thanks John. I found that using a very small flat screw driver helped the process of separating the cover from the frame. In the end, I decided to mount it with an adhesive putty rather than drill holes in a cored deck. But your advice is spot on.

Does the switch operate as. White.Off.Red. Or is it that when you energize them from the panel they are ON and you only control the color
The light can be turned on and off with the switch. It's a digital switch, so you change modes (off-white-red) by repeatedly pressing the button. It also has memory: it remembers which mode it is in when you de-energize from the panel. On our boats, we normally leave the lights in red/blue mode and turn them on with the panel. The switch is still lighted in OFF mode, so when you energize from the panel, you can see the switch.
