Good, not cheap
Four stars because it's stupidly expensive, but works perfectly for an ST1000+ on a Siren 17. I looked at DIY alternatives (3D printing etc) but in the end felt this was worth it for the solidity. The pedestal part unscrews, which is helpful.

Can I shorten the pedestal with a saw if necessary?
The quick answer is no. Shortening the pedestal will not help with whatever problem you have. Raymarine has many sizes of pedestals. I bought a second one myself because the first one wasn’t right.
