AIS Installed
Very appreciative of folks at Defender! Raymarine AIS 700 was received programed, I connected up to system and worked great. I did not realize they actually programmed MMSI so I was ahead of the game and ready to set my course. Happy cruising!

overpriced
Althought twice the price of my AIS 650, this unit performs well and with an antenna relocation, my range of receiving doubled.

AIS700 with splitter is a good value
AIS700 Class B AIS with built in splitter works well. It detected a high VSWR and we were able to isolate the problem to a poorly made connector on our boat. Also added a Digital Yacht multiplexer so AIS information can be used on tablets and cell phones running Navionics or Aqua Maps. Possibly the Garmin Cortex M-1 would be better because of integration of WiFi but the Raymarine has a lower price. Integrates easily with Raymarine backbone just try to plan what connectors you need as you order.

Questions
What is length of Female DeviceNet adapter cable? I need one longer than 1M.
Hello, for applications over 1 meter you would use the Raymarine Snap on adapter part #879079 and you can continue with a Seatalk ng cable.
