The instructions are terrible
Bought this to replace my Autohelm 3000 that died, the installation is much more complicated than what the Autohelm 3000 needed. The installation and set up instructions are terrible. Got the thing operational today but the "set up wizard" instructions do not match what the display does when trying to follow that set up.. Muddled through setup and it works but what a pain. Helm esponse time is slow but there were parts of the setup not done, omething about the rudder lock to lock time, for instance, because of admittedly user error blamed on vague instructions. Not sure what type boat the supplied cables would work for but Raymarine should not a couple of hundred dollars off the price and provide a list of what cables are needed and let the buyer determine the lengths needed. I bought the unit because it was compatible with my drive motor but if I was starting from scratch I would look long and hard at Garmin stuff.
