Great gloss varnish
I have used many quarts and gallons of this varnish on the interior of a new 38' sailboat. I like the amber color that stays true to the wood (birch). I tried Epifanes and that had a reddish tint that was not good. I like the clear/amber color, ease of use, cleanup, and durability of the Captain's. This pairs well with the 975 satin varnish in the same line for the top two coats. I have been doing 3 coats of the 1015, first one thinned 30%, followed by 2 coats of the 975. I could not be happier with the results.
