Description
Pettit Rustlok Steel Primer 6980 is an easy to apply, moisture and corrosion proof, polyurethane primer for use on all cast iron and steel surfaces, including galvanized and stainless steel. It contains aluminum flake pigment which forms a dense, water impervious barrier for good corrosion protection.

Easy to Apply
I recently built a trailer that will be used around salt water. A friend of mine with a steel boat recommended the Rustlock 6980. Being a trailer with racks I didn't look forward to putting on 3 coats with a brush so I called Pettit and asked about spraying it. I was told that because of the aluminium in the paint, it would clog my spray gun. I tried spraying it anyway and with a cheap Harbor Freight spray gun and I got beautiful results. No need to thin!

Best all around rust preventitive paint
Great, long lasting paint and rust inhibitor. I've used this on boat trailers for many years, especially ones that get dunked in salt water.
