Preparation is half the battle

Wet sand or is it dry sand? Fine grit or coarse? Tack between each coat? So many questions about how to prep the painting surface and each should be answered and understood to get the best finished product. Sandpaper, tack cloths, scrapers, and mixing tools are all available at Defender. And don't forget to prep yourself! Respirators, goggles, body suits, and gloves protect your skin, eyes, and lungs from painting chemicals.

Who knew there were so many types of paintbrushes and paint rollers? Consider the application - deck, hull, or bottom and the options narrow a bit. Clean up made easy

The easiest cleanup comes after conscious prep work. Masking and taping any features that could suffer from overspray. Scraping old caulk before the paint job allows for easy application of new caulk and no paint cleanup at all. Using the proper boat paint brushes and rollers removes much of the chance of drips and runs. So prep hard and clean easily!
