Do not buy this sham. Used one trip. Not very wet. White lights do not work anymore.

It may be "IPX6 classified and withstands heavy splashing and rain" but I bought this for a trip across the pacific to Polynesia. & in storm free conditions it lasted a whopping 2 weeks before salt water got inside & shorted it out leaving me with no headlamp for the remaining 2 weeks of night watches. Nothing was unusual here. Just the occasional splash across the dodger.
When I contacted Defender I was told since was over 30 days to call Navisafe.
When I contacted Navisafe I found only email addresses to send emails to & a voicemail to leave a message. I did both. No one responded to either.
@ an impressive $51, made by a company called Navisafe & sold by a marine chandlery I really thought I was buying the right tool for the job. Unfortunately that was not the case here & I'm going to have to turn right around and plonk the same money down again for a Petzl.
Also while its truly impressive that it runs on one AA its not very bright & dies pretty rapidly. Plus since its not very bright to start off with it's really quite dim when the battery runs low so you'll be changing batts before they run out.
Finally I wasn't a great fan of the headband. I felt it could hold its size a bit better & was difficult to adjust.
