Reviews

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Older models Mustang 3184 Inflatable Life jackets I bought on sale 05/2025 where MFG 2023. Mustang recommends replacing after 10 years. This means I'm only getting 8-9 years of use out of them. Plus the HIT inflatable mechanism need to be replaced after 5 years. Shortly after I bought two more from another source that were MFG 2024 but paid more. I would have sent them back but I'd did not discover the problem until I'd already marked the jackets with the boat name and number.

Questions

Is the Mustang Survival Corp Inflatable PFD with HIT (Auto Hydrostatic) with Harness a 100n or a 275n vest?

Asked by: Bill
Hi Bill, I bought a couple of these a few years ago.  Great vest. It's rated to 150N, and has 38lbs of buoyancy, so considered Type 2. 150N is the highest buoyancy rating I know of, and good for offshore. I don't think a category exists that has 275N, which theoretically would have 62lbs of buoyancy.
