Great Mast Steps!
These mast steps are nice all around. They unfold and fold easily and feel very secure. Couldn't ask for more.

How thick is the material at the mounting holes? Need to determine correct rivet length.
The length of the rivet is determined by thickness of the step which is about a quarter of an inch but more importantly the mast.. there's nothing wrong having the rivet being a little long. A half inch long wouldn't be an issue in most cases as long as it does not have a clearance issue inside the mast but that is an issue of where you drill the hole.
