Description
The Lofrans Tigres Windlass comes with a powerful reversing motor allowing the anchor to be released electrically as well as manually.

Send the the incorrect gypsy
I ordered a TC and PC gypsy but got a PC only gypsy. Now I have to change my chain. What a waste

Superb windlass
This windlass is used by many long distance cruisers. It is well built and at 1500 watts it has sufficient power to weigh anchors on 40-50’ sailboats. Like all horizontal windlasses it does require some maintenance, including oil change. Being from Italy, English instructions are not the clearest ever, but iTubes quickly fills the gaps.

Questions
How many watts does the Tigress have?
Officially, 1500 watts. You will need wires big enough to carry 150 amps with a voltage drop of preferably 3%.
It’s an awesome windlass: very well designed. Installation instructions are somewhat lacking, but you will find good Utube videos to help. The 4 bolts that you will need are 10 mm (7/16” are too big…).

Warranty on watertight control box??
Technically yes, realistically no. Once you leave the states its a No. They ask you to send the faulty one back first to inspect. We could still use ours in one direction and as full time cruisers we needed that. They wouldnt send us a new one first and then stopped replying. If you long distance cruising, get a spare. Good Luck!
