My Lewmar OP2 electric winch stopped working. There is a click sound when operating button is pushed. Could it be a bad solenoid, bad switch, both, or something else?
Yes it could be the solenoid - but the clicking is the internals of it moving. In my case I had very similar symptoms. After replacing the solenoid with no change, further investigation resulting in finding I had water in my windlass motor. Replaced the motor an back in business.
