Lewmar-furnished product w/ V. poor materials
Have Lewmar ProFish 700 Windlass purchased 8 yrs. ago & love it. Replaced anchor rode & chain this year for fist time using Lewmar packaged rode & chain -- nylon 3-strand intending to replicate what I already had that had worked great. The chainsplice looked good, but the line was super- soft & limp -- what I think must be the cheapest crappiest line Ive ever owned. Sure enough, every time I retrieved my anchor the line jammed in the Windlass, required full disassembly to extricate it and damaging the line every time. Lewmar Customer Service was very nice, tried to help, but ultimately was unable or unwilling to admit they had packaged & sold a very poor quality product, IMO. I had the original Anchor Rode reversed, trimmed and re-spliced -- works like a champ. Hard to imagine that Lewlar's selection of materials has devolved so badly in just a few years. They would not give me or Defender the time of day about this complaint. Defender has been awesome. Just want to get the word out -- IMO, this is a product to avoid.

Total length was about 15 feet too short
I needed it for my trip so didn’t have time to deal with the error. Very disappointed

Lewmar anchor rode.
Having the rode spliced to the chain is much easier to deal with rather than having it shackled. Quality Lewmar product over other brands.
