Rated 4 out of 5 by from Don't let pendant wrap under it! Pros: • the ability to coil the mooring pendant on the buoy rather than have it in the water getting fouled is wonderful. I have two pendants but generally leave one coiled on the mooring while using the other. • It won't mar the finish, no exposed shackles, after several years both the mooring and boat still look good! Con: It is critical to put a float or floats on the pendant to keep it on the surface when the boat moves up on the mooring. I use a jumbo pool noodle sliced lengthwise, put over the line then secured with wire ties. If you don't do this, the pendant can get under the buoy and wrap around the chain. The flat bottom of the buoy with the notches makes it EXTREMELY difficult to untangle this. Particularly if two pendants get wrapped. Twice I have had to use a diver to get it cleared. The pool noodle prevents this but also prevents coiling the pendant up on the buoy.
