Jabsco Twist ‘n’ Lock Pump assembly
After rebuilding the original pump several times over the last few years, changing out the original with this easy to install replacement has made the head so much easier to operate. It is a great buy if your rebuilds aren’t getting you back close to new operation. One point to pay attention to - they recommend adding warm water to the bowl and pumping it out before first use when the head had been idle fora few days or longer. It lubricates the pump and restores smooth operation without going to the vegetable oil routine. I definitely recommend this pump.

Defender good. Jabsco longevity not good
Defender good job in delivering the right product in new condition. My concern is with the pump itself because I've had to replace these every 2 to 3 years where the pump doesn't work well in the downstroke.

The most regularly replaced part on the boat
They don’t last long but they’re easy to replace. Something always fails on these. I’ve tried rebuilding but in the end it just comes down to a replacement. At least they’re keeping the cost down in this thing.

Quality product
Well made, quality unit. It does require you pay attention to the simple maintenance schedule of lubricant in the handle shaft on a yearly basis. And proper winterizing with antifreeze through the intake hose or water will sit in the upper part of the unit and possibly freeze.
