Worth the work!
Worth the extra work! Getting the new fitting in was tough and the rest of the install takes care and attention, but as a sailor, hey cold beer.
The instruction manual is not as helpful as it could be and some of the words seemed more like clues or hints than actual how-to. My advice is read it carefully before picking up any tools.
The compressor is quiet and efficient. When my buddy and I finally turned it on it dropped the temp 20 degrees in 20 minutes.

Questions
Is the “self pumping” through hull a keel cooler or is water actually pumped? Also, is it possible to get an evaporator like the one used in the 2501?
The SP is not a keel cooler, it is more like a heat exchanger, the condenser cooling loop is wound inside the SP thru-hull and the heat is transferred to the water outside the boat. The rocking motion of the boat moves water in and out of the thru-hull. This is efficient in water up to 28°C= 82.4°F If you frequent warmer areas, you would need to go with a water pump cooled unit.
