Held Up So Far
I used it on a teak board that filled in where the traveler track used to run across the bridge deck. It used 3 coats and let it cure fully between each application. It's been exposed to rain, lots of UV in the northeast and, stepped on many times and it still seems to be good shape, I wasn't so concerned with the grain of the wood showing through but with protecting the wood. It's lasted through one season so far, no worse for wear.

Cetol finish on the gunwales. time will tell
used this on my gunwales after three year refinishing job completely failed. used heat gun to remove failing and discoloring finish, 60, 80 then 220 grit and then five coats. looks awesome, but time will be the proof. Went to Cetol to try and avoid the intense stripping in the future required of the previous finish.

Questions
is this an based varnish?
I would call it a varnish that soaks into the wood. It last at least a year and when you want to freshen it up you just sand out any spot that it wore off and put 2 more coast on . Great stuff
