Ablative technology enables it to wear away with use and eliminates the build-up of old spent coatings and the heavy sanding needed to remove them. Great Paint, Horrible Shipping
We've used this hull paint before and it is great paint. This time I had it shipped from Defender and despite packing, all the cans arrived badly dented. One is dented so bad I'm surprised it didn't break open. Shredded cardboard just doesn't cut it with 2 gallons of paint bouncing around together in a too-big box.

Bottom paint
Excellent product, been using it for years. Very easy to apply. My boat spends 6 months in its slip and has very little growth when I haul out.

Not the Easiest to Apply
This is the first time I have used ACT; I chose it because it went over Micron CSC without sanding. I can’t speak to its effectiveness, but I do have two significant comments. First, it applies like driveway sealant so be careful selecting your equipment. I started using a foam roller but the paint was so tacky it fell apart quickly. I had more success with a regular roller with a 1/4” nap. Second, Interlux is using really thin metal cans, and both gallons arrived damaged (the outer packaging was intact.)
In general, the coverage was good and Defender’s price was excellent. If ACT holds up well in the Great Lakes I will continue to use it.

I nice more tropical blue than Micron 66 and now we will see how it does up in North east this summer.

Nice paint for the money
This is the second year in a row we have chosen this paint. For the money it gives very good performance. It goes on thick as ablative should and dissipates at a ood rate

Easy to Apply
