Rated 1 out of 5 by from dont buy this thing had to put it in a vice to remove the white lens from the base. one plastic tab broke, had to literally break it to get it apart. the wires only enter from the bottom. how you gonna wire this on a masthead?? very cheap quality, worse design, stay away and save yourself a headache

Questions

What size wire is needed for this light?

Asked by: John
The light is only 25 watts so 16 gauge is more than sufficient. You should study the attached 12v DC wire gauge chart for future installs.

Can it accept a 24 volt bulb of the same size and could it accept an LED 24 volt bulb of the same size?

Asked by: Cavale
The unit was designed for incandescent lights, which emit a great deal more heat and consume more energy than LEDs. LED bulbs with the proper base and lumens requirements should be readily available in 24 volts. I am using aftermarket LED's (12 volt to match my boat's electrical system) and the unit works very well. It would be well to ensure that the LED selected has a built-in driver and voltage regulator (as most do these days) to ensure that the light can handle up to 30 volts line voltage. These voltages can be seen on the house DC supply when operating with a bulk charge source in process.
