Hella 12 V fans
Fans work great, but have been modified since the originals were installed on my boat. The originals had a hole in the top cap to allow you to pass the 12 V wire through the current version does not have this so the wire has to go around the tightening and Into the overhead. I preferred the old way as it looked cleaner.

Decent High Blowing Fan
The center hub is the switch. There is Off, Low, High. The fan really does move an impressive amount of air. My only real concerns are the open back of the fan, as I've accidentally made contact with the spinning fan blades- and the real fragility of the very thin little wire and how it's so unprotected as it exits the fan and makes the jump to the base where the fan swivels the most. Maybe having designed it so that the wire exited more towards the base arms would have been preferential, as well as a more robust, or better protected wire.

Hella fans, a toss up.
So-so. I dont think they are as well made as they used to be. Btw DO NOT BUY THESE FROM EBAY!!!! The ones i bought there were crappy. Broke or had issues with the switch.

New Hella fans quality is POOR.
I have 10 Hella turbo fans on my Outbound 46 in French Poly. These fans "used to be" great years ago BUT the quality has been steadily slipping. They changed the wiring color code of the wiring at one point so + changed sides from previous production runs. That is only a sign of what was about to happen. I used to operate these for a few years and then change them out. No longer. Life expectancy continued to drop to where I couldn't even get a year our of the. Now, it is WORSE. I just purchased 5 new ones here to take back to the boat. One failed completely within an hour and another failed after a week. Obviously something has changed in the manufacturing process. Or; they are knock offs? The old German fans lasted, these are now junk. I kept buying them so I had matched fans throughout the boat but now, looking for an alternative.

The polarity was reversed and the switch was loose. Had to reverse positive and negative and pull the switch off, bend some plastic tabs in order to tighten the switch.

Just OK
Thought it would run faster considering it’s listed as the most cfm fan. Was replacing some worn out Guest oscillating fans since they are discontinued. Not happy with how flimsy this fan is and the open back and no oscillating. My other ones I replaced with Seachoice oscillating fans which are faster and significantly cheaper.
