Gill Get’s top Bill
I just wore this for the first time last week here in Germany (Bremerhaven) and it was everthing i expected it to be. Kept me dry and warm… keep in mind that this is NOT an ultra warm jacket… I had a good sub layer underneath. At the same time, it’s thicker than a typical windproof jacket like a HH or North Face and Arcteryx. I have a fantastic Arcteryx jacket and it’s great, but this Gill OS1 is next level. The collar is oversize, and that’s a plus, as it blocks out all the wind and it has a nice soft layer built into the face covering so your not rubbing your face what would feel like a pice of plastic.
The oversize Velcro in the front is also amazing and has a great sleeve to tuck it away when you don’t need it. Plenty of pockets and storage.
This is my second Gill jacket (my previous one got stolen) and it was about 12 years old. So I only assume that this will also last another 10 years… now I have put an apple tag in the jacket so that would be a great hidden pocket for future versions.
