Please see the attached images for the ratings and key This model can be worn for watersports. Typically vests with buckles are good for water sports, zipper only vests should not be worn in high speed/impact situations as the zipper will come apart and the vest will open or come off (learned that one the hard way). This is good as a near shore casual use vest. If the kids are extreme sports types, you may want to look into a sport specific vest.
