Questions
I just purchased a GPS speedometer. The wiring diagram shows two hot wires (+12VDC). One hot wire is turned on with the ignition and the other is hot all the time. What is the current draw of the continuously hot wire when the key is off?
I did not measure the current draw because the purpose of keeping the unit live is to avoid a very short boot of the unit.
I don't mind the warm up of the unit anyway and I don't leave items running as the boat is rack stored inside.
I think it is a good unit, a little lag on Excelleration, but more accurate than the original unit while going slow.
