Rated 5 out of 5 by from Better Than Advertised I lived on my boat in Western Alaska and all the way to Indian Rocks Beach, Florida. In Alaska, I relied on this heater in below zero temps. When it was 25 degrees F, half way up the scale on the Newport, it was 92 degrees F inside. My stack was only 10" above the deck so I had to run the 12v fan pretty much full time to prevent it to soot up. A 4 psi electric fuel pump had to be used because it wasn't 18" below a header tank. Small price to pay. GREAT heater!

Questions

Guide says you can use without electricity.  Dont you need a pump to get diesel to the heater?

Asked by: Patience
MorningGlory is absoulutely correct concerning the gravity feed alternative. There is also a built in, 12 volt electric fan that impacts air flow, chimney draw. I use it in the innitial lighting procedure. Others use it contunously. It depends on setup and preference. But the fan is not crucial.
