BligeKleen filter is good... but not great
The unit does what it says it does as far as filtering out oil but their statement that it doesn't reduce flow is completely false unless you have a very tiny pump. The hose from my bilge pump is 1 1/4" and the biggest hose fitting from the unit is 3/4" and the holes in the side of the head of the unit are only about 5/8" diameter.
Clearly you can't push the same amount of water from a 1 1/4" hose through a 5/8" hole and have it be the same flow. Even with no filter in it the discharge rate is probably cut in half. I solved this problem by putting a Y-diverter valve in line and another discharge through hull so that in the unlikely event that I might take on water I can switch the valve so the pump will bypass the filter and have full flow. Like I said the unit is good for what it's designed for but it definitely does not give you the same flow rate unless you have a little tiny pump.
