C.S. Johnson Mini Gate Hook with Splice Line End Fitting - LS-3170

The LS-3170 Mini Gate Hook with Splice Line End Fitting features an over-center design with no load on the swinging hook when closed, allowing easy opening and closing.

Features:

• Machined out of 6061-T6 aluminum and then hard anodized
• Designed to be lightweight and easy on the line
• Built with patented "Over Center" design unlike other foreign made designs
  • The load is on the hook body instead of the swinging hook itself
  • This design makes release pin easier to operate and less likely to snap open with force
• Dyneema/Spectra is a great product for the cruising sailor that wants to replace their stainless steel lifelines
• Splice line fittings all made in one size
  • The maximum size line that can be used is 6 mm (1/4")
• The same Dia. as vinyl coated Stainless Steel lifeline
• The pin size is 1/4" on fittings that have pins
• Overall length of the "bullet" part of the splice line is 1 5/8", the diameter is 9/16"

Note: One end of the splice does need to be done on the boat
