Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cool piece of running rigging Great device. We don’t load it to max, but it moves almost entirely without friction under considerable load. Used as when racing to draw in an inhaul on the foresail sheet for a 40 Jeanneau racer/cruisrr

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Useful for Single-Handed Locking Successfully used the 14.10 friction ring for locking thru Sault Ste Marie Canadian lock. Best practice is to wrap both a bow and stern line on lock cables, then tend them as the boat gyrates during locking. As a single-handed operator their use allowed me to tend both lines. The small bight form by the cleat, lock cable and friction ring to hand provided positive control of the boat as opposed to a large bight formed by cleat, cable to hand.
